Judge Morvant serves as a judge of the Nineteenth Judicial District Court for the Parish of East Baton Rouge. Since the inception of his term in office through December 2002, he has presided exclusively over the Nineteenth District’s drug court, a specialty-court created by en banc order for the purpose of expediting the disposition of drug cases.
During the period in which Judge Morvant imposed monetary assessments on convicted drug offenders, he was also serving as a member of the I Care Advisory Council, an organization that seeks to prevent young people from becoming involved with drugs and alcohol.
